So, I got tired recompiling kernels, cross-compiling our embedded platform, and waiting for a single machine to do all the lowly work.
Enter the googleplex!
Specs: 4 x AMD64 3600 on Jetway mobos, with 2Gig DDR RAM, and 80Gb SATA's
Result: Kernel compile time went down from 28minutes to 8 minutes using distcc
